Good to know

  • Card fees are worked on the whole order, shipping included: Shopify's staff say so in its forum, but no official page does.
  • US stores: Shopify Payments rates vary by country, and these are the US rates. Sales tax is left out; card fees are charged on the tax you collect too.
  • We assumed: Premium cards (Amex, business): None. We used the standard card rate. Shopify charges more on 'premium' cards and doesn't define them.
  • We assumed: Orders paid in another currency: None. We counted no international card or currency conversion fee.

Shopify fees as of October 13, 2026 (shopify.com/pricing, which carries no date, and Shopify Help, both read that day). Fixed formulas; no AI computes a number.
