Break-even ACoS in peak seasonEstimate
35.5%
October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027. Outside peak: 36.6%. Ads pay for themselves while your ACoS (ad spend ÷ the sales the ads bring) stays at or under this line, your own margin before ads. At your ACoS of 45%, the ads lose about $127 a month in peak and about $112 outside it, at your numbers.

The fixes
In peak season: Bring campaigns to ACoS 35.5% or lowerEstimate
Worth up to $127 a month
Lower bids or pause keywords until campaigns run at ACoS 35.5% or lower (Campaign Manager). If ad sales and your other orders hold, you'd keep up to $127 more a month. Cutting ads can cut organic rank and total sales, which is why it's 'up to'. Launches run above break-even on purpose, and attribution windows move ACoS either way.

Good to know
- The break-even counts what one more sale costs: the referral fee, the FBA fee, storage (with the packed size) and the landed cost. It leaves out the Professional plan's $39.99 a month (one more sale doesn't change it), returns, and stock left over 181 days.
- Storage isn't counted without the packed size; it lowers the break-even a little, most from October to December.
- New campaigns often run above break-even on purpose, and ads can lift sales that don't come from a click (other products, later orders), so an ACoS over the line means these ads alone lose money, not that ads are wrong for the product.
- Assumes the Professional selling plan. On the Individual plan Amazon adds $0.99 for each item sold.

- For context only. Amazon publishes no ACoS benchmark. One ad software company reports a median ACoS of 28.2% across the accounts it manages. Median across 69 managed accounts, Apr–Jun 2026; the middle half ran 16.0% to 63.1%. The line that matters is your own break-even above.Estimate
- We assumed: FBA fee per unit: $6.02 outside peak, $6.35 in peak (estimates). Estimated from a standard box, 1 to 2 lb, at the top of the band, from third-party 2026 rate cards with the 3.5% surcharge. Your Fee Preview shows the real fee.

Estimate The FBA fee, the peak fee and storage come from third-party 2026 rate cards (Amazon's tables are behind the Seller Central login): every figure built on them is marked an estimate. Referral fee, by category
Official rates. Whether the stepped rates (Beauty, Baby, Grocery, Clothing, Lawn Mowers and Snow Throwers) apply to the whole price or only the slice above the line isn't confirmed on a public page; the engine uses the whole-price reading. Fine Art (20/15/10/5% by band) is left out: its band lines weren't recorded. 'Total sales price' includes shipping: sell.amazon.com/pricing, read October 15, 2026, says an item's total price "includes its list price, as well as shipping costs and any gift-wrapping charges", so the engine counts the shipping the buyer pays.
