Fee rates

The fees we use, and where each one comes from.

Every number on your result comes from fixed formulas and the rates below. Each rate links to its source, with the source’s own date, the day we checked it, and how exact it is: official, from the platform’s own page, or a third-party estimate where the platform keeps its table behind a login.

We check at once if a platform announces a fee change. US sellers, US dollars.

From Etsy's own policy pages. When they wouldn't load for us, we read them through the Internet Archive, and the link goes there.

Amazon fees

Plans, referral fees and the media closing fee come from Amazon's public pricing page. Amazon's fulfillment, storage, returns and coupon tables sit behind the Seller Central login, so those come from third-party 2026 rate cards: every figure built on them is marked an estimate, and where sources disagree we use the higher cost.   • Referral fee, by category

    Official rates. Whether the stepped rates (Beauty, Baby, Grocery, Clothing) apply to the whole price or only the slice above the line isn't confirmed on a public page; the engine uses the whole-price reading. Fine Art (20/15/10/5% by band) is left out: its band lines weren't recorded. Whether 'total sales price' includes shipping isn't confirmed; the engine counts the shipping the buyer pays.
